María Uicab was a priestess and a military leader during the Caste War, the indigenous uprising in the Yucatan. Also nicknamed the 'Queen of Tulum', she lead the Cruzoob Mayans, the followers of 'La Cruz Parlante' and had an integral role in how and why the Mayan community settled in Tulum.
