María Addy Mas Tah, known locally as Doña Addy, was born in 1937 in Chemax, Yucatán and has lived in Tulum for more than sixty years. She is recognized as one of the community’s early traditional midwives and healers, using knowledge of medicinal plants learned from her mother and late husband. For many years, families came to her home seeking natural remedies and care.
